Madison, AL Job Summary Performs repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce auto parts products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Positions auto parts according to knowledge of units being assembled or following job blueprints or SWI.
Follow standardized operating procedures as outlined in SWC.
Places auto parts in specific relationships to each other.
Fastens auto parts together with bolts, screws, peed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
Tends machines to perform force fitting, fastening, cutting, molding, to assist in assembly operation.
Work at different workstations as production needs require.
Understand thoroughly the customer's quality specifications.
Identify and segregate defective parts as instructed.
Participate in the daily, weekly maintenance of machinery and equipment as outlines by department Supervisor and/or PM schedule.
Participate in team meetings as outline in department.
Participate in Kaizen Program.
Participate in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Practice and participate in the 5'S.
Report problems to immediate supervisor.
Report all accidents to team leader or supervisor.
Understand and follow the Standard Operation Procedures established for the area.
Follow direction of Team Leader and Supervisor.
Participate in end of the day clean up.
Last five (5) minutes.
Job Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working Conditions Physical Effort and Requirements of this Position While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to walk.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
Intellectual Activities and Requirements of this Position Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in on-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Abilities Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instruction.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
